After forty years, Hubbs still can’t get used to me stopping on a dime. When I see something unusual or pretty, that’s it. I want a picture of it! If I don’t have my phone handy, I want to see it, enjoy it, treasure it. Whether I’m walking or driving, I stop to investigate it a little bit more. It happened, again, the other night. The setting sun was just so gorgeous, and I had to pull over just to look at it.
When Hubbs did the driving, I could BEG for him to stop and he would just drive on by. “Oh, I can’t stop that fast. I need more of a warning.” Humph. Now that I do all the driving, he has conniption fits when he sees just how fast I can stop! Of course, I’m looking ahead as I drive for anything fun. I make sure it is a safe pull over… or I turn around and go back!
Driving is still one of our favorite pastimes; talking, dreaming, enjoying the scenery.
